NIGERIA @59: A message from We Inspire

🇳🇬🇳🇬🇳🇬🇳🇬🇳🇬🇳🇬🇳🇬🇳🇬🇳🇬🇳🇬 And here comes, "yet another period of national day celebration". The day we remember the struggles, sacrifices and success of the long-gone generation. That was the generation that was always ready to give all they could for the advancement of their nation. But what do we have 59 years after their dream was manifested and their struggles paid off? All we have is a nation who's pride lies in overpopulation and past glory, a nation with a failed government and pseudo-democracy, a nation where every election/swearing in is an inauguration of yet another set of pocket-concious politicians. We're left with a nation where tribalism, corruption and terrorism is the order of the day, even the government is already a threat to it's citizens.       But then, in the presence of a failed government, are we just going to fold our hands as citizens and watch the country get worse as the day goes by? OF COURSE NOT! It's ...

BATTLE AGAINST PROCRASTINATION

Image
Being able to stop procrastinating can completely start to change your life around for the better. Procrastination occurs when you have something to do, you know you should be doing it, but for one reason or another, you’re not doing it. This can be a habit that can literally destroy your life if you don’t take control of it. This article will be about why we procrastinate as well as give you some tips to help you take action more often in order to achieve your goals and get done what needs to get done. What Causes Procrastination? Before you can stop procrastination, you first need to understand what causes it in the first place. It’s actually quite simple. The reason why we do or don’t do anything comes down to two things: Pain and Pleasure . Everything we do comes down to either avoiding pain or gaining pleasure. Let me give you an example. Have you ever procrastinated on studying or writing a term paper? Of course you have. But why do we do this when we know it’...

50 LESSONS OF LIFE

If you can do what you love for a living, life will be a lot less stressful and a hell of a lot more fun. (Lisa B., 41) A smile is one of the few contagious things that you should spread. So spread it to everyone! (Marcie W., 27) Never be too proud to ask for help (especially for directions, ahem). (Ashley V., 23) Avoid pulling all-nighters. They’re no fun and too much Red Bull is no good for you. (David S., 20) We regret more about the things we didn’t do than the things we did do. Get out of yourself and just do it. (Will W., 36) Stop trying to impress people by being someone you’re not because in the end, you’ll lose yourself. (Anonymous) We don’t have to do anything – we always have a choice. (Tim W., 38) The best feeling in the world is getting paid to do what you love to do. (Laozhang, 36) No one can make you feel anything you don’t want to. (Jennifer K., 28) The older I get, the less I care about what others think of me. Therefore, the older I get, the mor...

LIFE AND YOUR TIME-FRAME

Image
LIFE AND YOUR TIMEFRAME, Everyone has their own life calender specially prepared by God; so don't feel bad when your colleagues succeed before you, just do your best and wait on God.  The article is a big-time eye opener that you can't afford to miss. By: Aghaedah, Tochukwu Oti       The word "life" is one unique element in this world. It is the only period/opportunity that man has to achieve all he desires to achieve and it comes only in one phase. Once it is gone it can never be retrieved except by god's special intervention through miracle. So many might believe in reincarnation but it's just nothing but a piece of superstitious belief, even the Bible stated that after death comes judgement, therefore, any second phase of life can only be experienced at your place of eternity, i.e., either in heaven or hell. Life on earth has only but one phase, it has no part/season 2, therefore, strive to achieve the best you can while you have the opportunity, ...

FINDING YOUR PURPOSE

Finding Your Purpose Finding your purpose Do you know what is driving you? Why are you working so hard and doing so much to get what you want? Do you know your purpose for being here? Whatever your dreams may be and whatever you want to achieve, it is important to analyse the reasons for those things. The reasons for what you want to have and to achieve are your “why.” Your why is intimately tied to your purpose in life. Finding your purpose – the reasons for achievement It seems strange that most of the time we wonder through life without any real purpose of our own. At times we do achieve great things and have the appearance of having a wonderful life. We may even have every material thing we could ever want and be successful at our careers, businesses and every thing else. But, as many who have achieved success will tell you, you can still feel empty inside and your life can still lack real meaning. Imagine, for a moment, that you have achieved your dreams. You...

WHAT'S YOUR PURPOSE

Image
What do you want to do with your life? It’s a question almost everyone asks themselves. It’s also a question  I don’t believe you should bother asking in the first place. “I don’t know what I want to do in life, all I know is that  it isn’t this .” That was the sentiment a friend reflected to me. She’s in her mid-twenties, smart, savvy and hard working. But she is still stuck working jobs that don’t hover much beyond minimum wage. Every year, she tells me, that she applies for Universities, but never goes through with it.  Why?  Because she can’t answer that question. Passion Evolves I worry a lot of people fall into the same trap. The trap of believing that they need to make big life decisions before they can start doing anything. The trap that you need to be born with a passion. And the lie that being able to combine your interests with a profession is easy. When people ask me what I’m going to be doing in five or ten years, I usually tell them I’m goin...

SLOWNESS IS NEVER A CRIME....PATIENCE IS A VIRTUE

Take your most conservative estimate for the amount of time you need. Then double it. That’s your most realistic deadline.” – Software Development Maxim “People tend to overestimate what they will accomplish in one year, but underestimate what they will accomplish in five.”   – Steve Pavlina The more time you give yourself to complete a goal, the more likely you’ll achieve it. With any goal under 1-2 years, you’re probably overestimating the amount you can accomplish. By undertaking new goals with deliberate slowness, you increase the chance you can achieve lasting success. Deliberate Slowness Deliberate slowness has lost its appeal as a virtue. Although most people remember the old fable about the slow and successful tortoise against the faster hare, slowness is viewed as a sin in today’s culture. Walk through any bookstore and you’ll see promises to lose weight, make money and be successful in less time than you ever imagined. Lose twenty pounds in one week. Double yo...
