FINDING YOUR PURPOSE

Finding Your Purpose Finding your purpose Do you know what is driving you? Why are you working so hard and doing so much to get what you want? Do you know your purpose for being here? Whatever your dreams may be and whatever you want to achieve, it is important to analyse the reasons for those things. The reasons for what you want to have and to achieve are your “why.” Your why is intimately tied to your purpose in life. Finding your purpose – the reasons for achievement It seems strange that most of the time we wonder through life without any real purpose of our own. At times we do achieve great things and have the appearance of having a wonderful life. We may even have every material thing we could ever want and be successful at our careers, businesses and every thing else. But, as many who have achieved success will tell you, you can still feel empty inside and your life can still lack real meaning. Imagine, for a moment, that you have achieved your dreams. You

WHAT'S YOUR PURPOSE

What do you want to do with your life? It’s a question almost everyone asks themselves. It’s also a question  I don’t believe you should bother asking in the first place. “I don’t know what I want to do in life, all I know is that  it isn’t this .” That was the sentiment a friend reflected to me. She’s in her mid-twenties, smart, savvy and hard working. But she is still stuck working jobs that don’t hover much beyond minimum wage. Every year, she tells me, that she applies for Universities, but never goes through with it.  Why?  Because she can’t answer that question. Passion Evolves I worry a lot of people fall into the same trap. The trap of believing that they need to make big life decisions before they can start doing anything. The trap that you need to be born with a passion. And the lie that being able to combine your interests with a profession is easy. When people ask me what I’m going to be doing in five or ten years, I usually tell them I’m going to be an entrepre

SLOWNESS IS NEVER A CRIME....PATIENCE IS A VIRTUE

Take your most conservative estimate for the amount of time you need. Then double it. That’s your most realistic deadline.” – Software Development Maxim “People tend to overestimate what they will accomplish in one year, but underestimate what they will accomplish in five.”   – Steve Pavlina The more time you give yourself to complete a goal, the more likely you’ll achieve it. With any goal under 1-2 years, you’re probably overestimating the amount you can accomplish. By undertaking new goals with deliberate slowness, you increase the chance you can achieve lasting success. Deliberate Slowness Deliberate slowness has lost its appeal as a virtue. Although most people remember the old fable about the slow and successful tortoise against the faster hare, slowness is viewed as a sin in today’s culture. Walk through any bookstore and you’ll see promises to lose weight, make money and be successful in less time than you ever imagined. Lose twenty pounds in one week. Double your i

The winning mindset

Image
The winning mindset - origins Unfortunately, it is an attitude that is widespread, not only in Nigeria, but all over the world. Throughout our childhood and most of our adult life, competition is the order of the day. Right from our school days we are taught that our self worth is measured in relation to other people. At school, our grading system gives you a number at the end of the term. If you “pass number one” that means you are the best in your class. If you “pass number 25” that means there are 24 other kids that are better than you are. So if you want to be number one and “win” you must make sure that all the other kids “lose” and pass number two or more. Wait a minute though, why can’t all the kids in class pass number one? Why must we compare one child to another? A simple pass or fail remark on the report card might be sufficient without necessarily stating numbers. Unfortunately for children, parents take these numbers very seriously. This carries on through life

PARENTAL MENTORSHIP

Please read this carefully and get your son or daughter to read it too. This post is about what happened in a typical middle-class household. The son didn’t like living in his father’s house. This was because of his father’s constant ‘nagging’; “You are leaving the room without switching off the fan” “The TV is on in the room where there is no one. Switch it off!” “Keep the pen in the stand; it is fallen down” The son didn’t like his father nagging him for these minor things. He had to tolerate these things till yesterday since he was with them in the same house. But today, however, he had an invitation for a job interview. “As soon as I get the job, I should leave this town. There won’t be any nagging from my father” were his thoughts. As he was about to leave for the interview, the father advised: “Answer the questions put to you without any hesitation. Even if you don’t know the answer, mention that confidently.”  His gave him more money than he actually needed to attend the interv

EDUCATION

At the entrance gate of a university in South Africa the following message was posted for contemplation: "Destroying any nation does not require the use of atomic bombs or the use of long range missiles. It only requires lowering the quality of education and allowing cheating in the examinations by the students." Patients die at the hands of such doctors. Buildings collapse at the hands of such engineers. Money is lost at the hands of such economists & accountants. Humanity dies at the hands of such religious scholars. Justice is lost at the hands of such judges... "The collapse of education is the collapse of the nation."                            WE INSPIRE Our facebook page @ WE INSPIRE                                          WE INSPIRE2

BETTER THAN THE BEST

Jack MA, The Richest Man in China said: If you put Bananas and Money in front of Monkeys, Monkeys will choose Bananas because monkeys do not know that “Money can buy a lot of Bananas” IN REALITY, if you offer JOB and BUSINESS to people, they would choose JOB because most people do not know that BUSINESS can bring more MONEY than Wages Similarly, Robert Kiyosaki, author of the best selling book "RICH DAD, POOR DAD" and also a business partner of Donald Trump said: “One of the reasons people are poor, is because they are NOT TRAINED TO RECOGNIZE ENTREPRENEURSHIP OPPORTUNITIES. They spend too much time in school and what they have learnt in school, is to WORK FOR WAGES instead of MONEY WORKING FOR THEM “Profit is better than Wages, for Wages can make you a living but Profits can bring you a Fortune” THINK INVESTMENT and stop fighting over increments of salaries, it still won't be enough Hear this from Prof. Abletor Sedofia from University of Ghana in one
